This institute has always been working hard to ensure Equity in the society. The college is committed to provide an environment that promotes diversity and respects everyone regardless of colour, religious belief or cultures. While maintaining diversity of all kinds, it also commits to ensuring protection of everyone including SC/ST and OBCs and acting as per the provisions of constitution of India in such matters.

To realize the Equity in the society, college has evolved a very robust mechanism to deal with the issue of equity among the equals. College has set up a special cell to assist and monitor the students from Scheduled Cast (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities and Other Backward Classes in improving their academic performance and in optimizing their development in their personal and social life at Colleges as per the guidelines of UGC/AICTE for strict implementation of reservation policy in Colleges. The college is setting up a special for the welfare of Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes & Other Backward Classes in order to ensure the effective implementation of Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, No. 33 OF A1989, dated 11.09.1989.

To enlighten, empower the disenfranchised section of society and to oversee the effective implementation of policies and programmes for the disadvantaged groups and to act as source of strength by providing assistance in order to achieve equality and social justice.

  • To educate the students and other stakeholders from the less privileged section of the society and provide them with equal opportunity.
  • To improve the performance, provide guidelines and counseling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters to disadvantaged groups.
  • To extend all the services to disadvantaged groups and look after welfare of these communities.
  • To provide opportunity and facilitation to the deprived groups for learning and creating space for them to mainstream themselves.
  • To create awareness among the students about the natural resources and local opportunities in organic farming and medicinal plant based occupations.
  • To implement the reservation policy for SCs/STs and OBCs in the College.
  • To take such follow up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the State Government and the UGC.
  • To guide the SC/ST & OBC students of the College, to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the State Government, Government of India (GOI) and UGC.
  • Registering the complaints in writing from of SC/ST/OBC teachers, officers, employees, and students and address it to concerned department, person, section for its peaceful resolution.
  • Nomination of SC/ST/OBC students for Cell at Institute level.

Functions

  • To circulate State Government and University Grants Commission’s decision and to collect regularly, on an annual basis, information regarding course-wise admissions to candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and OBC in the College for different courses, in forms prescribed by a stipulated date and to take follow up action, where required.
  • To deal with representations received from Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and OBC candidates regarding their admission, recruitment, promotion and other similar matters in College.
  • To function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the Grievances of SC/ST &  OBC students and employees of the college and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.

  • Ensuring Reservation policies in regard to SCs/STs and OBCs
  • Complaint Register for SCs/STs and OBCs
  • Maintenance of Reservation Rosters/Registers
  • To ensure compliance of the orders of reservation issued and other benefits admissible from time to time in favour of SC/ST and OBCs
  • To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
  • To provide prompt counseling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any events at the campus.
  • To communicate with the UGC/ DoPT/ MHRD/ etc. with respect to supply of required information, answering queries and clearing doubts with respect to reservations data/information etc.
  • To arrange for special opportunities to enhance the career growth of SCs/STs and OBC students.
  • To circulate State Government and UGC’s decisions about different scholarship programs.
  • To communicate with Office of the Commissioner for SC/ST and OBCs in response of representations/ complaints.
  • Any other work assigned from time to time to promote higher education among these communities suffering economic, social and education deprivations.
