About Department
The Department of physics of T.S.Negi Govt College became the part of the institution as an added colour to the already rich texture of the science Departments of the college opening up new vistas to the students by offering diversity of options for undergraduate courses in physics. The students have been learning the various dimensions of the subject concerned with best infrastructure in this remote tribal area with latest and modern equipments and practical’s. Presently, the Department supports undergraduate program and gives training to young students to equip them conceptually with a broad spectrum of physics courses and to enable them to appreciate the role of physics in other disciplines and society so that they can relate physics with real life experiences. The program helps them to understand new concepts through hands-on experience and new technology. The department works with the objective of developing experimental, theoretical and computational skills along with igniting critical thinking in students so that they realize that physics is not only mathematical derivations. The department has consistently produced students who have qualified entrance tests of various reputed institutes and are successful in their careers, physicists, educators and much more. The ICT tools and other online resources have been the part and parcel of pedagogy in this departing catering to the diverse needs of the students from all social backgrounds. The students are always encouraged to participate in the co-curricular activities to strengthen their soft skills and life skills. The Department puts special focus and deliberates in detail to prepare the Academic Calendar and the curriculum delivery plan to initiate the students to follow the well planned Academic delivery plan.
Message of the HOD
The Department of Physics intends to excel in the advancement of scientific mindset for the critical observation and evaluation of the phenomena on this earth with a humanistic angle. The students are very valuable stakeholders to accomplish the learning outcomes and well defined and structured formula to attain the desired results. The labs are fully equipped with all the necessary articles, but without the active participation of the students coupled with the able guidance of the faculty there will not be any success stories of growth and innovation. We are dedicated to teaching and learning physics in a collaborative, performance- based community. We encourage observation and analysis of the natural world, and we seek to provide the tools and skills for advancing our knowledge of the universe and for providing solutions to challenges we face as individuals, communities, and societies. The department wants to develop an incubation centre to nurture the research aptitude of the students and to provide with the basic facilities to nourish the potential in the research field. The Department extend heartiest welcome to all the learners in this sacred place of learning for self – dependence and critical thinking.
