Teaching is a noble and pious profession and it transcends beyond the standard definition of the profession. A person who takes teaching as profession also assumes the obligation to conduct him-self /her -self in accordance with the ideals of the profession. It shapes the character, caliber and future of an individual. Each and every teacher shall see that there is no incompatibility between his /her precepts and practice. The profession further requires that the teachers shall be calm, patient and communicative by temperament and amicable in disposition. He / She can inspire, hope, ignite them and instill a love of learning among the students. Every employee shall be governed by rules and regulations prescribed by the UGC under section 15 (c), and the rules and regulations prescribed by the Govt. of HP from time to time, and is liable for all consequences in the event of any breach of rules by him / her. Besides, the teachers have to –

  • A teacher is person of highest level of integrity and embodiment of wisdom, to whom each and everyone in the society looks up to for growth, personality, inspiration, motivation and transformative qualities.
  • A great teacher is the one whose every action and words carry exemplary meaning and may be worth emulating in all aspects of life.
  • Adhere to a responsible pattern of conduct and demeanor expected of them by the community.
  • Manage their private affairs in a manner consistent with the dignity of the profession.
  • Make professional growth continuous through study and research.
  • Express free and frank opinion by participation at professional meetings, seminars, conferences etc. towards contribution of knowledge.
  • Maintain active membership of professional organizations and strive to improve education and their profession through them.
  • Perform their duties in the form of teaching, tutorials, practical, seminars and research work conscientiously and with dedication.
  • Co-operate and assist in carrying out functions relating to the educational responsibilities of the College and the University such as: assisting in appraising applications for admission, advising and counseling students as well as assisting the conduct of University and College examinations, including supervision, invigilation and evaluation; and
  • Participate in extension, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities including community service.

  • Speak respectfully of other teachers and render assistance for professional betterment.
  • Refrain from lodging unsubstantiated and mala-fide allegations against colleagues to higher authorities; and
  • Refrain from allowing considerations of caste, creed, religion, race or gender in their professional endeavor.
  • Discharge their professional responsibilities according to the existing rules and adhere to procedures and methods consistent with their profession in initiating steps through their own institutional bodies and/or professional organizations for change of any such rule detrimental to the professional interest.
  • Refrain from undertaking any other employment and commitment including private tuitions and coaching classes which are likely to interfere with their professional responsibilities.
  • Co-operate in the formulation of policies of the institution by accepting various offices and discharge responsibilities which such offices may demand.
  • Co-operate with the authorities for the betterment of the institution keeping in view the interest and in conformity with dignity of the profession.
  • Perform to the best of their ability in accordance with generally accepted professional standards of the teaching profession, to ensure there is no breach of their contract.
  • Give and expect due notice before a change of position is made
    Refrain from availing themselves of leave except on unavoidable grounds and as far as practicable, with prior intimation, keeping in view their particular responsibility for completion of the academic schedule.
  • Recognize that education is a Public service and strive to keep the public informed of the educational programmes which are being provided.
  • Work to improve education in the community and strengthen the community’s moral and intellectual life.
  • Be aware of social problems and take part in such activities as are conducive to the progress of society and by extension, the country as a whole.
  • Refrain from taking part in or subscribing to or assisting in any way activities which tend to promote feeling of hatred or enmity among different communities, religions or linguistic groups but actively work for National Integration.

  • Every employee shall maintain integrity of character, be devoted to his / her duty and be honest and impartial in his / her official dealings. An employee shall be courteous and polite in his / her dealings with the Management, Principal, other members of staff, students and with members of the public. He/she shall exhibit utmost loyalty, sincerity and shall always act in the best interests of the college.
  • An employee shall be required to observe the scheduled working hours during which he / she must be present at the place of his/her work. No employee shall be absent from duty without prior permission. Even during leave or vacation, no employee shall leave headquarters except with the prior permission of the competent authority. Whenever leaving station, an employee shall inform the Principal, in writing through the respective H.O.D, or directly, if he/she happen to be the H.O.D, mentioning the contact address during the period of his/her absence from the headquarters.
  • No employee shall make any statement, publish or write through any media, which has an adverse effect/ criticism of any policy or action of the college; or is deemed detrimental to the interests of the college.
  • No employee can engage directly or indirectly in any trade or any private tuition or undertake employment outside his official assignment, whether for any monetary gain
  • An employee against whom any criminal proceedings are initiated in a Court of Law shall immediately inform the competent authority of the college with full details.
  • No employee shall except with prior permission of the competent authority, can take recourse to law or to the press for the vindication of any official act of the college which has been the subject matter of criticism or attach defamatory character.
  • Every staff members employed in the Institute shall discharge his/her duties efficiently and diligently as per the rules and regulations laid by the Competent Authority.
  • All Staff members should display the highest possible standards of professional behavior.
  • All Staff members should be punctual and discipline towards their work.
    Every Staff members shall maintain the appropriate levels of confidentiality with respect to student and staff records and other sensitive matters. .
  • Every Staff members should cooperate with students, colleagues & superiors.
  • All staff members should maintain the image of the institute through standards of dress, general courtesy, etc.
  • All the staff members should respect for the rights and opinions of others.
  • Every staff members should follow all norms and job details assigned by the Management, Director & Superior from time to time with full dedication.
  • All Staff members must refrain from any form of harassment or unlawful discrimination based on existing legislative norms relating to gender/sexuality/age/marital status.
  • Violations of code of conudct by the Teaching & Non-teaching staff are subject to Disciplinary action, Show Cause Notice, Memo, Enquiry Committee, Transfer to any other Institute , Suspension, Termination etc or any other action as per the Component Authority
  • Whenever an employee wishes to put forth any claim or seeks redressal of any grievance, he/she must forward his/her case in writing through proper channel to the competent authority and shall not forward any such advance copies of his/her application to any higher authorities unless the competent authority has rejected his/her claim or refused redressal of the grievance or has delayed the matter beyond a reasonable time.
