About Department

The Political Science Department of T.S.Negi Govt. College was one of the initial Departments to be started with the very inception of this college in 1994. The Department has been imparting the quality education with sense of discipline and utmost respect for the subject. The students of the department are always given the luxury to share their problems related to academics and other issues for immediate solution with the robust mechanism of Mentor- Mentee to address the queries of the students. From its inception, the Department has had as its mission, the task of building a healthy awareness of the political environment of India and the world among its students. It has addressed itself to this through its vision of inculcating a holistic and inter-disciplinary approach towards scholastic enquiry and learning.

It is a vibrant and pro-active department, encouraging debate and discussion on a wide range of current issues and political trends through departmental activities. The students have always been the focus of all curricular and co-curricular activities of the Department; the curriculum is designed in such a way to make the whole teaching learning process as student centric and student friendly

The department has been started M.A Political Science in 2020. The Department has good record of results and it is pushing very hard and strongly to carry the tempo and good work in future also. The department provides unlimited opportunities for students in higher studies, employment, and competitive exams. The poor students are given text books and other study materials by the Department to pursue their studies unhindered, and the meritorious students are rewarded with incentives of cash and other kinds of prizes and mementoes.

Message of the HOD

The Department of Political Science extends heartfelt welcome to all the students of Political Science in the Department. We are aware about accentuated shifts in the modern pedagogy, and competitions, therefore, there is well-calibrated policy orientation in the department, which would lead to inculcate all those values required to triumph in such conditions. There is a sense to strive in our students to get enlightened to all those academic upheavals, which they are supposed to confront in the future.
It is said and believed that Politics happens between nations, within nations, and within the minds of people within nations. It affects almost every aspect of our lives, from education and health care, to our attitudes toward each other. In the discipline of Political Science, we propose to investigate the nature, causes and consequences of politics and its subsidiary implications. We are very proud of our commitment as a facilitator and disseminator in political science learning and will continue to innovate and strive hard to meet the expectations of our beloved students with our sincere services.

To introduce the graduate attributes to the students and their parents to give them the basic idea of the framework of the programme and course.
To guide the students for the attainment of POs, COs, and PSOs as per the structure of Bloom’s Taxonomy levels to accomplish the outcomes.
