- Limited Career Pathways:History program graduates might face challenges in securing employment directly related to their degree, especially in competitive fields.
- Dependence on Traditional Methodologies:Some history departments may be slow to incorporate new digital tools, such as data analysis or digital humanities, into their curriculum.
- Curriculum Rigidity:Some history programs may have outdated or narrow course offerings that don't reflect the latest research trends or global developments.
- Funding Constraints:Humanities departments, including history, may face limited funding compared to other departments, leading to fewer resources for research or student support.
OPPORTUNITIES:-
- Digital Humanities: Advancements in technology provide opportunities for history departments to engage in new areas of research and teaching, such as digital archives, data analysis, and online education.
- Interdisciplinary Programs:There is potential for collaboration with other departments (e.g., political science, sociology, anthropology) to create interdisciplinary courses or programs.

- Shifting Public and Institutional Priorities:The humanities, including history, may face reduced emphasis or funding as institutions prioritize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs.
- Changing Student Interests:Younger generations may be more inclined toward careers in technology or business rather than traditional academic fields like history, leading to lower enrollment numbers.
- Global Political Tensions: History departments may find themselves at the center of political debates about national identity, historical memory, and controversial historical interpretations, which can be contentious.
- Digital Divide:While digital tools present opportunities, they also pose challenges for institutions that lack the infrastructure or resources to integrate them effectively.
FUTURE PLANS:-
- Since the college is surrounded by places of historical importance the department is planning to initiate educational tours to places of historical importance to create historical interest among the students eg Tabo Monastery, Kamru Fort, Moorang Fort, Ki Monastery, etc.
