Economics

About Department

As one of the oldest and most distinguished foundations of the college, the Department of Economics serves as a gateway for students to understand the intricate machinery of the global and local economy. We pride ourselves on transforming a subject often perceived as a "difficult road to tread" into a vibrant field of opportunity, self-employment, and professional growth.

Affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, our undergraduate program balances theoretical rigor with real-world application. We move beyond the four walls of the classroom, encouraging students to take the lead in innovative, interdisciplinary events. A hallmark of our curriculum is the Annual Budget Analysis, where students deconstruct national fiscal policies to understand their impact on the common citizen. Whether aiming for the corporate sector, civil services, or entrepreneurial ventures, our students are equipped with the analytical tools necessary for a successful livelihood.
